Case of Linda: She sent me the following email, and I was able to help her without the need for her to visit my office:

“Dear Makiko,
How are you? ……… I have not been well for months, and after over a year of tests, scans and treatments, I am getting worse. The doctors and therapists tell me that I have:
Severe obstructive sleep apnea, Hypersomnia, Excessive Daytime Sleepiness (EDS) and Narcolepsy with drop attacks and sleep attacks
Post-concussion Attention disorder (auto accident – 3-20-2009)
Fibromyalgia, High pitch Hearing loss
Severe finger/hand pain and loss of coordination, and inability to grasp or tie shoes and inability to unscrew my water bottle …

A Balance disorder, dizziness and debilitating pressure in my head, like a migraine without the severe pain, but with visual disturbances, nausea, and sensitivity to noise, light, motion, and temperature – especially heat
Loss of Executive function, confusion (especially with directions, time and Day), memory loss.
Searched and Found a therapist who does myofacial Release and Cranial Sacral therapy which helps.
I’m not supposed to be driving or I would have been there to visit.

Since I treated her neck and back aches before, I knew enough about her personal history (lifestyle & habits). So my actual response to her email was:
“Hi Linda,
Try those:
Food and Diet:
1. Lemon juice cleansing: every morning, right after you wake up, squeeze a fresh lemon and dilute by water as much as you want. And drink it. Do not eat or drink anything before or after 30min.
2. Sleep on a hardest floor. You can put an exercise mat. Harder is better.
3. Stop taking as many medications as possible if you are taking anything.
4. Stop eating: sugar, any artificial sweeteners, simple carbohydrate (Cake, cookie, candy, chocolate, even bread, any bread for now) , Alcohol, any cereals
5. No canned or bottled food.
6. Eat real, fresh, whole food.
Proper Movement and Posture:
1. Lie on a floor, legs are more than a hip joint width, arms are open to both side.
a. Roll your head left and right, very gently and slowly, 10sets.
b. Press the legs toward the floor and release, 10sets.
c. Press the arms towards the floor and release, 10sets.
2. Bend your knees and place your soles of the feet on the floor. (Bend your knee enough till the sin is perpendicular to the floor.)
a. Press the floor by soles of the feet gently. You can feel your buttocks begin to lifted slightly off the floor. Then release the push, 10 times.
b. Flex your both ankles so that heels are on the floor and your front part of the feet lifted off the floor. Release the flex, so that your feet drop to the floor make a light sound of tapping. So tap 20times x 5 sets.
Try those first. And let me know how you feel.

And only ONE WEEK later, I received the following email:
“Thank you, Makiko…It’s working already…My head feels clearer, no fog, and the dizziness seems lessoned.
I haven’t started the cleanse yet but I plan to —Are limes okay too or only lemons? I have stopped eating Bread and most carbs.
This is amazing – I cannot remember when my head felt this good.
